Um...
Sorry if I'm being a dense jackass here, but what does the protective skirt on Tampax Compak actually do? I can't work it out, and the ad explains nothing. I could Google it, but I'd rather moan about it on here.

Protective skirt? What protective skirt? Do you mean the wrapper?
It's a skirt thing round the base bit that is there for absolutely no reason that I can see, yet has spawned a really annoying ad campaign. I'm just mystified as to how it works, and might have to go and buy some to experiment with (that statement makes me sound twelve).
Mystified me too, so I just googled it, and got to you. I've not been this mystified about tampons since I was 12! (just turned 30)
